A Tribute to the Life of Dianne Copeland Adcock

LBV Rotarian Dianne Copeland Adcock, 62, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2020. She was one of the most optimistic and inspiring people anywhere -- full of boundless energy and stamina. Born in Norfolk, VA, Dianne was the daughter of the late Frank Patrick and Shirley Stephenson Copeland. As the founder of the Copeland Mills School of the Arts, she worked as its director for over 28 years and later became an entertainment manager for Walt Disney World. After the move to the Orlando area, she continued to serve in her long-time position as co-chairman of the Chesapeake Rotary Christmas parade. A former member of the Chesapeake Rotary Club, she later joined the Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista at Walt Disney World. In that role, she was project manager of the Hike Across America program and a moving force behind the club's Holiday Spirits of Lake Buena Vista fundraiser. Dianne was someone who entered a room with a happy smile and a positive word, her personality, and joie de vivre lighting up the place as she came. To say she will be missed is a colossal understatement. Her life was all about helping others to shine. She is survived by her sister, Debbie Copeland; husband, Michael Adcock; children, Shirley and Kris Turner, Kenny and Erika Mills, Joshua and Monika Adcock, Jason Adcock; grandchildren, Scarlett, Maverick, Pierson, Victoria, and Noah.
