First job: Selling and delivering “Grit” Newspaper at 12 years old. Worked in
egg factory, printing business, variety store, school photographer during school years, and carpenter. First
full time job, E I DuPont, Savannah River Plant, Aiken SC (Atomic Energy plant) 5 years, Martin Marietta
Orlando 4 years, Walt Disney World 31 years
Most fun job: Project Engineer “Little Mermaid Show in Hollywood Studios” Walt Disney World. Also, first
15 years at WDW.
Career background: Mechanical Engineer designing facilities and utilities systems for 40 years
Why did you join Rotary? To be involved in service organization

Current employer/ position: Retired, live in NC mountains in summer and Orlando in winter
Travel interests: Fly to interesting places and tour the area. Been to Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii,
Caribbean, Europe and 42 States. Also like to go on cruises.
Something we don’t know about you! My hobbies are woodworking, building houses, rebuilding
wrecked automobiles, tinkering/fixing all kinds of things. I like to know how things work! Have owned a
Pawn Shop in Gainesville FL, been a “slum lord” (Rented large houses with pool to college students in
Gainesville FL)
