Gears and Ears

Journal of The Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista
                                                        June 2018
                           Looking FORE-ward to Next Year!!!!

The crisp cool morning dew blankets a freshly mowed lawn. The sun starts to rise as
the coffee and bagels (Thank You, Calvert Corp) are being staged for what is poised
to be a wonderful morning of fellowship, networking, and oh yes – Golf. This was

the scene at the Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, FL on the morning of May 18th.
What a great event, coordinated by a great team of people, all for the purpose of
                                              supporting a great cause.

This year’s Lake Buena Vista Rotary Club Golf Fundraiser was a success by all accounts.
Our first “thank you’s” are to the wonderful staff at the Celebration Golf Club.
They take pride in their course and the way they treat their customers. A top notch

experience which puts them at top consideration for next year’s tournament.

Next, this could not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the LBV
Rotary Golf Committee. The event was planned down to the very last detail and
its smooth delivery makes it seem like an easy undertaking. But do not be fooled.
The committee put in a great deal of thought and time to creating the wonderful
experience had by all. They even negotiated the weather with Mother Nature who
stood by the terms of the agreement until the last two holes of the game. We
considered filing for breach of contract but then saw what she did to the folks in

Hawaii last week and have reconsidered. :)

Next we have to thank the volunteers who participated before, during, and after the
event. Successes do not happen in Rotary without volunteers and we have some of
the best that money can buy.

And last but certainly not least we have to thank our sponsors, donors, and players.

If not for this group of generous individuals, we still would have a great time but
in no way been able to satisfy the “giving” itch that we all feel in support of causes
