LBV Rotarians:

Ready for some fun and fellowship! We have all heard about Dragon Boat Races and now they are being held right
here in our own “backyard”; our Rotary Club Lake Buena Vista Board of Directors supports our Club involvement
and now we need a team! Are YOU ready to ROW!? Need your commitment ASAP, forgive the late notice, but
after you read all of this info then email me only with your commitment. Please do not reply to all unless you have to
and do not reply to me if you can’t join us, it is okay ;-).

Here is a summary of the scoop (contact me about the practices): Date of the races: Saturday, October 19, 2013
(pretty much an all: day event, but more details as we get them). On Lake Buena Vista, all events of the day are
held at Downtown Disney. You must be able to swim to row, so not really any restrictions. We need 20 people on
our boat, so commit NOW, if we don’t have 20 Rotarians or sig others we will need others.

Debie Gryniewicz, Celebration Rotary Club, brought this opportunity to our Club and “The Rotary Cup”. This
event will bring great awareness to Rotary, and they’ve asked that the Rotary teams row in memory of my son,
Gabriel Grigsby. Gabriel’s 11th birthday would have been October 26.

The participation fee of $1500.00 is going to be covered from the Gabriel’s Super Fun Day Proceeds.

Ray Maxwell is going to have shirts printed that will have a combo design of our Club logo and Super Gabe logo,
to continue raising awarenss for the need for madatory early testing for Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) in Florida.
Costs for the shirts are TBD.

The Dragon Boat Races at Lake Buena Vista are sponsored by Walgreens and features a health fair. There will be
a lot of time to mix and mingle as the races only last about 3 minutes!

There is not a lot of preparation; they offer a mandatory practice the week prior to the race so keep that in mind.
Just need your commitment now and will communicate to only the rowers from now onward. Even if you told me in
person you were in, please make sure you have replied to me by emaill so I may verify my list.
