President’s Message
From Doug Spence
December 2023
Lake Buena Vista Rotarians,
December is here in central Florida. This may not mean snow shoveling or cold
weather, but it brings along the continued season of thankfulness. I'm very thankful
for the members of our club, their dedication to helping the community and their
hearts of giving. The district recently honored our Club's International Service,
spearheaded by Karuna Sabharwal. The grant has helped women and children's
health with lifesaving surgeries in India with several Rotary Foundation backed
projects. Additionally, we were awarded Club recognition with EREY (Every
Rotarian Every Year) for 100% of our members donating to The Rotary Foundation
and recognition to our Club as a Foundation Giving Club! I'm thankful to be part of
such a vibrant club that is talked about across our district as being a very active
club.
December is also disease prevention and treatment month for Rotary
International. It's great that our club donated 2 weeks of Happy Dollars toward
Polio Plus. Rotary continues to lead by example in the efforts to eradicate Polio and
now onto other diseases. I'm thankful for the efforts of our club and proud of Rotary
globally for the impact made around the world. Our donations to our Foundation
and the Rotary International Foundation will continue those efforts and make a
noticeable impact.
As we are wrapping up 2023, I'm sending out my thanks to each and every
member of The Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista for the efforts to better our
community locally and globally. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy
Holidays for all that we celebrate. Cheers!
Now it's time to say goodbye to all our family.....
