Funny thing happened on a recent cruise, I attended
a Rotary makeup. During our recent Eastern
Caribbean cruise aboard the Princess Line, Louise
checked our “day at sea” program and noticed a
Service Club meeting was scheduled. We decided it
would be fun to check it out.
The meeting was chaired by a staff member who
issued a “make up” certificate to the 5 of us in
attendance. We met Rotarians from Scotland,
Australia, New York and Virginia. We shared club
highlights over cocktails and I learned all our new
friends were seasoned travelers with many tales of
adventure. It is very cool how Rotarians become
instant friends in a matter of minutes. All had many
years of perfect attendance with the exception of one,
me.
After the meeting our new friends from Scotland, Peter
and his wife Joyce, joined us at the bingo tournament
where Louise won $200. From there we attended the
“hypnotist” show where Louise volunteered to go
under his power of suggestion. But that’s another
story.
