Dear Rotarians,
Welcome to the first edition of our revived club bulletin. Take a moment
and thank Jeff Calvert and Augustine Campana for the incredible job they
have done in bringing this publication back to life and providing us with an
avenue to share information about ourselves and about Rotary with everyone.
Thank you Jeff and Gus.
April is Rotary Magazine Month. Rotary International has several
publications, the most popular of which is their flagship publication,
The Rotarian. Every Rotarian should be subscribed to receive this information-packed magazine on
a monthly basis. The subscription is included with your membership dues, so there is no additional
expense to receive it. And what you learn about Rotary will blow your mind. There are so many great
articles and bits of information about the humanitarian work that Rotarians just like you are accomplishing
all over the globe. Don't forget that there are other publications, including the Rotary International
website, where you can find information in different formats that best meets your reading style.
With only 3 months left in this Rotary year, we still have some work ahead of us. We've accomplished
a lot this year, but that's no reason to slow down yet. This month is one of our biggest fund raising
events of the year. The Relay for Life fundraiser walk. This year is shaping up to be the largest and
most participated in the event's 7 year history. If you have not already signed up, do so quickly and
don't wait until the last minute. Logistics planning becomes much easier the sooner everyone is signed
up.
We also have the RYLA event that we have sponsored (volunteers welcome), an upcoming road
cleaning, and we are looking to support one more service project before the end of the year. Don't
slow down just yet. Stick with me for just a little longer and it will most certainly turn out to be a very
productive year that we can all be proud of.
Thank you for your commitment to the club and to Rotary. Have a great month.
