Rotary Awards

Rotary has a grand tradition of recognizing achievements with awards. This is especially
true for individuals who are honored for their service and commitment by being named a
Paul Harris Fellow. This distinction is awarded when $1000.00 is committed to The Rotary
           Foundation.

Each year, it is the happy duty of the Club’s out-going President to select recipients of the
           Club’s other prestigious awards.
Four Way Test Award - It is often that Rotarians have the opportunity in their daily lives to
ask themselves, is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build good will and better
friendships, will it be beneficial to all concerned, that is the 4 WAY TEST of what we should
think say and do in our business and professional lives. There are people that we know that
just seem to keep themselves in check by living this test at work and play, you can see it in
how they respect their employees, friends, spouse and all others. Some of our past recipients
were Brad Shepherd, Johnny Johnston, Jeff Smith, Don McKinney, Phil Wright, Paul Eggeling,
Maynard Bandy, Becky Broughton, David Brinckerhoff, Harry Boardman.

Garth Walker Rotarian of the Year Award - In 1996, because of his incredible wit,
charm, warmth, generosity, undying enthusiasm for Rotary and the inspiration that he is to
all, The Rotarian of the Year Award was renamed The Garth Walker Rotarian of the Year
Award. Some past recipients: Cathy Gilliam, Chip Neilson, Phil Wright, Jerry Neibert, Sal
           Ferdico, Eileen Cooper, Sonny Buoncervello.

Anne Peach Service Above Self Award - In the 1995-96 Rotary year another outstanding
business and community leader sought out membership in this, then little club of barely 30
members; the day she was inducted was a great blessing for the Rotary Club of Lake Buena
Vista. She was a mover and shaker executive at the Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, then M.D.
Anderson, now Orlando Health. Her talent was quickly recognized as she rocketed into
greater roles and now she serves tirelessly for her company where she wears so many
leadership hats, as Chief Operating Officer MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Vice President
Nursing Orlando Health. There are numerous boards and organizations in the community
where she gives of her time and talent. In 2006, another Rotary Club Lake Buena Vista
tradition began with the presentation of this award. Some past recipients are Phil Wright,
Ray Maxwell, Sal Ferdico, Dawn Grigsby, and most recently, Jean Campana.
