From the Club President

                                                     Eddie Fernandez

                                    LBV Rotarians,

It’s hard to believe this is the last message I will be sending to you as
President of the club. The first six months went by so slow as I tried to
get a handle on what my responsibilities were and how I would get them
done. However, these last six months have flown by. All in all, I couldn’t
be happier with what you’ve accomplished this year and I’m honored that
you brought me along for the ride. Don’t miss the end-of-year banquet
where I will recap all the great things our club accomplished in what I’m
hoping will be my most entertaining presentation EVER!!!

The month of June is Rotary Fellowship Month--a time for us to remember one of the tenets of
being a Rotarian which is sharing good times and laughter with other Rotarians through fellowship
events. Whether meeting at a social gathering or working on a project, getting to know your fellow
Rotarians, is key in building the relationships that continue to make our club and Rotary
International the strong organization that it is globally.

As the Rotary year comes to an end and I start to wrap up all my loose ends before turning over the
reins to President-Elect Sonny, I ask that you continue to focus your energy on what’s left to
complete this year. Primarily our 2 events coming up on June 22nd. The first, volunteering at the
Second Harvest Foodbank with organizing and packing food items from 8 to 11:30am.

The second, I ask that everyone clear your calendars to support long-time LBV Rotarian and all
around beautiful person, Dawn Grigsby and her son Gabriel and their whole family at Gabriel’s
Super Fun Day to help raise awareness of Adreno-leukodystrophy. This dreaded disease is
affecting the Grigsby family in ways that many of us have difficulty comprehending. If you have
not had the opportunity to participate in any other event this year, I implore you to attend this one.

Once again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity to lead you and I hope
that I met your expectations. I have enjoyed the ride.

Sonny, you’ve got a great team to work with. Enjoy it.

      Signing Off,

      Eddie Fernandez, President
Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista
