Dear Fellow LBV Rotarians,
October was a full and fulfilling month. It began with our wonderful fellowship event at
Rocco’s Tacos where the food was delicious, the camaraderie was fun, and the event
was well-attended.
As we all celebrate the outstanding “Rotary Club Cup” win by our Dragon Boat team,
we already have had folks asking to sign on as “crew” for next year’s race. We all owe a
special thanks to Dawn & Peter Grigsby for their inspiration, leadership, and
participation in the Dragon Boat Festival.
The Rotary Club of International Drive Rotary Masquerade Bowl Event was a tremendous success and our LBV
participants earned many positive raves for their costumes and their bowling skills.
Looking to the future, there is a great Rotary 6980 District event on Saturday November 9th at the Bahia Shrine
Temple. This will be a great opportunity for all members to learn more about Rotary and participate in our Business-to-
Business district networking. I encourage everyone to participate.
As we fill the final pages of our 2013 Calendar, we have exciting news about the holiday party. This year it will be at the
lovely home of Past President Ann Peach and her husband Ken. Their home has had extensive expansion work on the
Pool Deck Area and will now accommodate our growing club membership. We are most appreciative of the Peach
family for offering to open their home to our Rotary Members. Watch for the December issue of this magazine for more
information.
David Brinckerhoff lead off our committee meeting series with a session that inspired all who attended. We are
anticipating that the Membership Committee will be the next to meet.
Just a reminder—I encourage all Rotarians to schedule their Classification talk or update.
Finally, may I offer my sincere wishes for a happy and blessed Thanksgiving to everyone, especially our fellow
Rotarians and their families. I know you will all want to support a repeat of last year’s program that provided dinners to
those less fortunate than ourselves.
