Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Projects
Water is the basis for all life—and clean water fosters hygiene and health in global and local communities
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene focuses on ensuring that people can access safe water, sanitary facilities, and the knowledge needed to maintain healthy practices. These essentials reduce waterborne illness, improve school attendance, protect families, and create conditions in which communities can develop with greater health, dignity, and resilience.
Both directly and indirectly, our club helps turn this broad priority into practical service by supporting local and global projects that improve health, protect local resources, and address basic human needs. Through The Rotary Foundation, our reach extends to communities where wells, filtration systems, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education can transform daily life. A reliable source of clean water may appear simple, but its benefits flow through generations.
Water is a life source, but it can also carry many nasty diseases—both viral and bacterial. Through Rotary’s initiatives to ensure people around the world have clean water and better hygiene, Rotarians are playing an active role in this area of focus.
