Social Events and Local Outings
Members of the Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista love to enjoy fellowship in our monthly social events in the area
It’s no secret that if there is one thing Rotarians enjoy as much as volunteering and doing good in the community is… Well, getting together with their fellow Rotarians to eat and drink. Our club has an active social vibe, with monthly events where we gather for fellowship at restaurants and bars around the Lake Buena Vista and International Drive areas. After all, our backyard is full of options to have a good time as a club.
Most of our outings are held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, depending on the week and other events that prompt us to adjust the date—and always after 6:00 pm. Attending members may have access to drink tickets, depending on the venue. Most importantly, our hosts will usually supply us with a sampler set of finger food—but we always do good on our promise to make them remember us for ordering from their menus.
Volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
The Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista began volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank following the worsening of food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the lockdown year, many people lost their jobs in the crucial Hospitality and Tourism industries in Central Florida, prompting many families to struggle to make ends meet—and even feed themselves. Since Rotarians are people of action, it did not take long before this problem was met by a solution, as hundreds of Rotarians from District 6980 stepped forward and began volunteering at many of the area’s food banks.
